v&v soap

About:
vessel&vox soaps are handmade in small batches by me alone, whenever I feel like.  All my soaps use natural scents and colourants, unless by special request. That is – they are scented with essential oils and absolutes, and are coloured with plant powders, infusions, and clays. There’s no particular reasoning here except that I’ve always liked using nature as a pallette. (And also a lot of synthetic fragrances make my nose itch). With that, please be mindful of the essential oils in my products! I use them all in skin-safe concentrations for wash-off products, but I encourage you to do your own research about using essential oils during pregnancy, on your face, or when going out in the sun.

All my soaps are palm free, and I’m in the process of phasing castor oil out of my formulations too (at least until I can find a source that protects their workers from risk).

The names of my soaps are often inspired by literature, nostalgia, and spooky things.

Formulas:
  • no.01 – the soft one.

This is what all my ‘facial’ soaps are made of, as well as certain recipes that require a fluid batter for the colour design. Contains olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, hempseed oil, and avocado oil.

  • no.02 – the hard one.

This is what the majority of my other soaps are made of. It is similar to no.01, and it incorporates cocoa butter to make it a little more firm.

  • no.03 – salt soaps.

The addition of salt cuts down on lather, so I boost the proportion of coconut oil to counteract that! This is also the only formula that still contains castor oil, for this reason. Contains olive oil, coconut oil, and castor oil.

  • no.04 – hot process soaps.

I rarely make hot process soaps, but when I do, I am able to incorporate beeswax into my formula a little more easily. Given that, this is the only ‘non-vegan’ base.
